Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal information Ascend AI collects through this website, why, and what happens to it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Who we are
Ascend AI is a business automation technology company. This notice covers the corporate website at ascendai.us. Our product Continuo has its own privacy policy covering the product itself, which is separate from this one.
What this site collects
If you just read the site
Nothing that identifies you. This site sets no cookies and loads no analytics or advertising trackers. Our web host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, as any web server does.
The typefaces used on this site are served from this domain, not from a third party. Loading a page here does not cause your browser to contact any other company’s servers.
If you use the website assistant
We collect what you choose to type, which may include:
- the messages you send in the conversation;
- your name, if you provide it;
- your email address, if you provide it;
- your business or organisation, if you mention it;
- anything you tell us about your situation or what you need.
We also store a truncated one-way hash of your IP address. It is used to apply rate limits and spot abuse. It is not reversible into your IP address and is not used to identify or track you.
Please don't put sensitive information into the assistant — payment details, government identifiers, health information, or anyone else's personal data. It is a first-contact tool, not a secure channel.
Artificial intelligence processing
The website assistant is powered by Anthropic’s commercial API. When you send a message, the content of your conversation is transmitted to Anthropic so that a response can be generated. Anthropic processes it on our behalf, as our service provider, under their commercial terms.
Training. Anthropic states that it does not use commercial API inputs or outputs to train its models unless the API customer explicitly opts in. Ascend AI has not opted in.
How long Anthropic keeps it. Under Anthropic’s standard API retention policy, inputs and outputs are automatically deleted from its backend within 30 days of receipt or generation. Anthropic describes limited exceptions to this, including where it needs to retain data to enforce its usage policy, where the law requires retention, or where a different retention arrangement has been agreed.

This is not the same as our own storage. Anthropic’s handling above is temporary processing so the assistant can reply to you. It is separate from any enquiry record Ascend AI keeps, which is described under “Where it is stored” and “How long we keep it” below and is governed by our own retention policy, not Anthropic’s.
The assistant is an automated system. It can be wrong, and it cannot enter into agreements, quote prices, or make commitments on behalf of Ascend AI. Nothing it says is a binding offer. No decision with a legal or similarly significant effect on you is made by it.
If you would rather not have a conversation processed this way, email us directly at info@ascendai.us instead. Nothing on this site requires you to use the assistant.
Why we use it
- To answer your questions about Ascend AI and our products.
- To contact you, when you have asked us to.
- To understand what visitors need, so we build the right things.
- To keep the service working and prevent abuse.
Where the law requires a lawful basis, we rely on your consent when you choose to give us your details, and on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and protecting the service.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
- We do not add you to a marketing list without your agreement.
Where it is stored
Enquiries submitted through the assistant are written to a file on our web host's server, outside the publicly reachable part of the site, and readable only by our own account. Conversation content is additionally processed by Anthropic as described above.
Our hosting is provided by DreamHost and is located in the United States. If you are contacting us from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and stored in the United States.
How long we keep it
A conversation that does not result in an enquiry being captured is not stored by us as an enquiry record at all.
When enquiry capture is enabled, we normally retain an enquiry record for up to 12 months after our last meaningful contact with you. We may keep it longer if it becomes part of an active customer relationship, if we are required to do so by law, or if it is needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. You may ask us to delete your enquiry sooner by contacting privacy@ascendai.us.
This is not left to memory. A scheduled job runs daily on our server and deletes enquiry records that have passed the 12 month point, other than those held back for one of the reasons above. Rate limiting data is transient and is discarded automatically.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email privacy@ascendai.us. We will not treat you differently for asking.
Children
This site is intended for businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
